Vladislav Kaminski, Ph.D., P.Geo.

Is the founder and principal geophysicist. Vladislav has over 27 years of field, industry and academic experience. He started as an assistant geologist in 1996 and worked as a summer student involved with multiple field projects in Brazil, North West Territories, Nunavut, Labrador and Northern Ontario.

Vlad has graduated from Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia) in 2000 with a M.Sc. degree in Geophysics. He later joined Fugro Airborne Surveys as a field geophysicist. In 2003 Vlad entered the University of Pittsburgh as a Ph.D. candidate at the department of Geology and Planetary Science. While involved in the graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh, Vlad was employed as a research assistant at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL, US Department of Energy). Vladislav successfully graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in April 2008 with a Ph.D. Degree in geoscience and later that year joined Geotech Airborne Surveys (Aurora, ON) as a senior geophysicist.

In 2010 Vladislav has changed his professional affiliation to a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of British Columbia, where he worked with professor Douglas Oldenburg at the Geophysical Inversion Facility (UBC-GIF). He founded Promiseland Exploration, Ltd in October 2012 and became involved full-time in geophysical consulting and project management, developing early-stage exploration projects in Canada, as well as continuing his research in the field of geophysical inversion and modelling, publishing materials and presenting at conferences internationally.

Between 2021 and 2025 Vladislav was a part-time visiting professor of geophysics at Irkutsk State Technological University (ISTU), while continuing consulting activity internationally.

Valeriya Hallbauer-Zadorozhnaya, Ph.D.

Valeriya has over 54 years of field, industry and academic experience. She graduates (MSc, Geology/Geophysics) from the Saratov State University, Russia and holds a PhD (1984) from All Russian Research Institute of Geophysics (Moscow). He started as an Engineer Geophysicist (1971-1976), then she continued her career as Junior Scientist (1976-1980), Senior Scientist (1980-1991) Head of the Division Special Electro-prospecting, (1991-1994) and Leading Scientist (1994-2001). In 1999 she immigrated to South Africa (1999).  Valeriya joined the Council for Geoscience (2003-2015) and been involved and heading multiple field projects in all provinces of South Africa as well as in Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zimbabwe, Rwanda. Th targets of surveys were mineral exploration, search for kimberlite dykes and pipes, areoles of ground water contamination by HC compounds, stability of rocks, flooding of coal mines, detection of landslide slip surface, etc.

A special area of Valeria’s research is petrophysics, the study and development of mechanisms of various types of polarization effects occurring in rocks (mechanisms of electrolytic, membrane, and electrochemical polarization), as well as the theory of seismoelectric phenomena.

In recent years, Valeria has been working on developing algorithms for interpreting airborne geophysical survey of time domain data, including the induced polarization effect, which have been successfully used for interpreting airborne and semi-airborne survey data in South Africa, Canada, and Russia. In 2022-2024, she was a consultant to AeroPhysX (Pty) Ltd (Canada).

Academic background:

Valeriya was lecturing geophysics at University of Pretoria (2009), geophysics, engineering geophysics and environmental geology at Technical University of Tshwane (2010). Valeriya worked as an extraordinary professor at the Technical University of Tshwane (2016-2019). Between 2022 and 2025 Valeriya was a visiting professor of geophysics at Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Russia (IRNITU), while continuing consulting activity internationally. Valeriya is currently a visiting researcher at the Central South University (Changsha, China) (2025-).

Areas of Expertise are exploration geophysics, electrical and electromagnetic methods, induced polarization, petrophysics, physics, hydrogeology.  She is a Professional Natural Scientist (South Africa)

Valeriya is the author and co-author of 47 refereed publications and more than 110 presentations on Russian and International `conferences and workshops).
